Q1: Answer the question below and tell explain why you chose your answer. #oklaed pic.twitter.com/kNTLHFwt6F
— Dr. Jason James (@James409Jason) April 2, 2018
A1- Current legislation is a great first step. More is needed but every teacher and every school needs to be on the same page in order to be more effective at negotiating. Some are in, some are out, some are out but still having activities. #oklaed
— Steven Pyle (@sulphurmiddle) April 2, 2018
A1: C. It's a first step, but not good one- history doesn't give me much reason to trust OKleg with keeping the funding appropriated where it is currently. funds only adds to my suspicions of political games being played at my kids' expense #oklaed

Q2: How will the recent #oklaed pay raise affect you and your family? Will it make a difference for the teaching profession? What impact will this have on the T shortage? pic.twitter.com/bmBJVDaXS7
— Dr. Jason James (@James409Jason) April 2, 2018
A2: Hopefully this raise will entice career teachers to stay in the profession and will keep newbies in our state #oklaed
— Stephanie Hime (@MrsHime) April 2, 2018
A2 I don’t think it’ll keep new teachers in Oklahoma but it may keep some tenure Ts for a year or two more. But this doesn’t address classroom size or case loads, all factors that affect teaching #oklaed https://t.co/WSmELVZ6mS

#oklaed Q3: What confuses you the most about what happened last week or with any legislative process? pic.twitter.com/puTau4udfY
— Dr. Jason James (@James409Jason) April 2, 2018
A3: Are schools exempt from the increase in diesel tax? Or will schools being being paying much more for diesel now? #oklaed
— Clay McDonald (@McDonaldClay) April 2, 2018
A3 I am still confused by the #OkLeg legislature’s support of continued cuts to state services across the board. How can they imagine this is acceptable or moral? #OklaEd

Q4: #oklaed What are your plans for Monday? Why are you doing what you are doing?
— Dr. Jason James (@James409Jason) April 2, 2018
A4: #oklaed I’ll be at the Capitol!
There’s a lot of work left to do. https://t.co/lcGkP7Lbog— Joy Hofmeister (@joy4ok) April 2, 2018
A4: my purpose in going to the Capitol:
1) thank #Oklaed for fighting for my kids
2) ask #okleg to adequately fund our schools
3) educate my House Rep who is very misinformed (thinks edu needs more cuts!)
4) acknowledge the huge progress that was made by passing HB1010— Elizabeth E. Smith (@eesmith0814) April 2, 2018

#oklaed Q5: What is your school/community doing to support Ts and your/their decision? pic.twitter.com/pWnxMqkCuc
— Dr. Jason James (@James409Jason) April 2, 2018
A5) My wife teaches 3rd grade and has literally had multiple parents pull her aside and tell her they support her 100% and if there is ANYTHING that she needs they are there to provide it. So touching and inspiring. #oklaed
— Tyler Bridges (@bridgestyler) April 2, 2018
A5: The awesome churches in our community came together to make sure our kiddos get to eat lunch while schools are closed. #oklaed

#oklaed Q6: pic.twitter.com/TuhiPCmCzD
— Dr. Jason James (@James409Jason) April 2, 2018
A6: remind #OKleg that Article 13-Section 1 of OK Constitution requires them to “support and maintain a system of free public schools wherein all children of the State may be educated” and that we expect them to FULLY accomplish that requirement #oklaed https://t.co/FeFVBExvGt
— Mr. David Burton (@MrBurtonMPS) April 2, 2018
A6: Ed funding isn't just the concern of parents & educators, but anyone w/ an investment personal or professional in Okla. Businesses won't want 2 come nor STAY in a state ranked 50 in education/ #1 in incarceration. The quality of #oklaed will determine our State's future. https://t.co/LhVXA5G3db

#oklaed Q7 What is next? What would you like to see happen in the #okleg or from @GovMaryFallin ? pic.twitter.com/kmXHFPqmZN
— Dr. Jason James (@James409Jason) April 2, 2018
A7: Quit playing political games. Please be clear in your support for #OklaEd now and in the future. "Make our public schools palaces – public education is the silver bullet!” West Wing – Sam Seaborn
— Amanda James (@451Flame) April 2, 2018
A7: I'd love for them all to see that "fiscally responsible" does not always mean cutting $. It means balancing a budget that funds what needs to be funded – trimming the fat is great, but it shouldn't be by starving it off! #oklaed https://t.co/ZVNwJRbJSu

Q8: If you were the sole decision maker for all of #oklaed, what would it take for you to be satisfied and go back to work? pic.twitter.com/xm3WnfgGgz
— Dr. Jason James (@James409Jason) April 2, 2018
A8: R E S P E C T for the valuable work of teachers, paras, custodians, bus drivers, cooks, admins and RESPECT for our students and their learning experiences & environments#oklaed https://t.co/syZzrmHeNg
— Mr. David Burton (@MrBurtonMPS) April 2, 2018
I am concerned that once we all go home, once the cameras are looking the other way, it will be business-as-usual for the #okleg, which hasn't been good for #oklaed. https://t.co/6MfJIWgifW

#oklaed Q9 Are you still confused? Do you want clarity on an issue? What remains unanswered for you now? pic.twitter.com/29xlBCPIqs
— Dr. Jason James (@James409Jason) April 2, 2018
A9: Why has this (lack of educational funding) been allowed to happen for so long? #oklaed
— Chong Si Lor- #INFP (@chong2087) April 2, 2018
A9: we were here 29 years ago, we’ve rallied each year for past several, we’re here now (& for how long?). Can you hear us?… Dear #okleg, what actionable plan will you implement from now through indefinite future to keep us from having to come back? #oklaed https://t.co/U8K7I8Ld9y

#oklaed Q10: Share with everyone 1 Great Thing going on at your school right now? Whether in your classroom or a teaching peer, what is 1 thing you want people to know is awesome at your school. pic.twitter.com/siF3KY88Bf
— Dr. Jason James (@James409Jason) April 2, 2018
A10) #swelem Ss have read over 51,000,000 words as a school the last 2 nine weeks! 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders getting stuff done b/c of their awesome Ts! #oklaed https://t.co/HtVZNXJofI
— Nathan Meget (@NMeget) April 2, 2018
A10 – My school is full of students who will be graduating in May as the first in their family and then they are going on to college! THIS is huge and THIS is what education is all about! That is a game changer for generations to come!! #OklaEd

Boomsauce tweet(s) of the night:
Erin:
A8) an end to treating funding core services like it is a zero sum game. It is not. Funding core services is an #okleg responsibility, I realize that difficult decisions need to be made but we elected our leg to legislate and fund the gov #oklaed
— Stephanie Hinton (@thestephhinton) April 2, 2018
Scott:
That's why there can't be an end. We may go home, but #oklaed must be vigilant. We must vote, call, email, and most of all encourage others to do the same. This isn't about 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, it's about making a lifestyle change. #Oklaed
