We have a packed house tonight!! Glad to see everyone. Tonight is a little different. No QA format. Just good old convo. Just start talking about any of the prompts. #Oklaed pic.twitter.com/1vPVoEx2Og

I think that #ObserveMe can foster growth, but ONLY if meaningful feedback is provided. I also think that the observer should be open to learning as well. However, chaos is chaos so you can’t call disorder a “difference in procedures” #OklaEd

#observeme can be a great tool, but you only get out what you put in to it. You’ve to get out and go visit other classrooms. #oklaed
— Steve Gilliland (@Stv_Gilliland) January 29, 2018
#observeme should also be cross-curricular. Not only does it provide feedback but allows for opportunities to see where teachers can collaborate outside of their subject area. #oklaed

More pros #oklaed
– Asking Ts/As to focus on specific things (with the sign outside the door), helps them to hone in on those specific things and not other parts of the lesson.
– This could show your admins that you're really working on your craft before/after the observation.— Andre Daughty (@andredaughty) January 29, 2018
Cons – You need to teach meaningful feedback…thinking socratic method? No? #oklaed
— Plain ol’ Erin Barnes (@ebarnes73) January 29, 2018
Ideally, yes, but a good description would without the visual is stilll a huge help.
— Stephen Prilliman (@SGPrilliman) January 25, 2018
The best thing about #observeme is that it isn't a canned eval. I feel like formal evaluations are too easy to "fake." I want real feedback on a normal day when I don't necessarily know someone is coming. #oklaed

“You don’t have to be bad to get better” #observeme #OklaEd

No one is above #observeme. If we are truly in the profession to better ourselves and be lifelong learners, then we must be open to others giving us feedback to improve. #oklaed https://t.co/aY5OMErazZ

You said it ….It starts with relationships.
Can't do #ObserveMe without trust.#oklaed #NICs— Joy Hofmeister (@joy4ok) January 29, 2018
My pleasure. It looks like you all had a thoughtful conversation. I think the biggest #ObserveMe hurdles are the marketing and finding workarounds for the realities that make observing one another challenging.

If you aren't prepared to grow when you post #observeme on your door, take it down and go back to your own island of teaching, your kids will suffer for it and you will be miserable and its obvious that your administrator hasn't provided quality feedback to you #oklaed

We have room to grow and improve and I'm sure there are things we haven't done right…..but getting out of the slump of silo's and receptive to feedback has been culture changing in itself. #OklaEd

Telannia’s #ObserveMe Goal
Boomsauce tweet(s) of the night:
Erin:
I think of all the times I've remind my Ss we learn from mistakes, we're always growing…if I believe this I'll join the #observeme movement. Wow…this GrowthMindset stuff can be intimidating. #oklaed
— Jennifer Seitsinger (@room20awesome) January 29, 2018
Scott:
We greatly underestimate the power of feedback in the eval process. The numbers don't matter…but the words can lead to growth. #oklaed

Telannia:
🤩S/O to @CarsonCramer1 for being the 1st to expose me to #observeme 🙌🏻 I noticed the sign on her office door, tag on her twitter profile & I was inspired! Her openness to communicate struggles, ask for feedback or ideas &celebrate successes to me epitomizes #observeme #oklaed
