ISTE13
So yesterday was my first day at an ISTE conference…WOW!! A colleague was able to make the trip with me and we left the comfy confines of Oklahoma City bright and were in San Antonio by 9:00, at the convention center by 9:30, registered and in our fist line by 9:45. 30 minutes later I have a new Microsoft Surface RT (which I am using right now btw’s) and some time to kill. Wanting to attend the opening session at 1:45 we head back over to the convention center at 1:30…Ooops, that was too late, line #2…so we missed the very opening remarks, we were able to see most of the session. Really cool, but not super great. Enough to have us wanting more…Break number 2, explored the Alamo, hung out in some other hotel’s lobby for Starbucks, planned day one and got ready for day two. Keynote started at 5:45, I check twitter and see the longest line I have ever seen, so we haul the mail back to the convention center and get into it! Keynote #1 was dynamic: Jane McGonigal was really inspiring with her message about gaming and all of the positive influences that come from it. See here TEDTalk here – http://youtu.be/dE1DuBesGYM. Supercharged we head out to dinner, get out our conference final programs (all 196 pages of it…) and totally re-work our day one strategies. Really looking forward to day two and all of the cool things that it will bring!!!
